Kim Carter Weekdays
6PM - 10PM (Eastern)
Kim
Carter grew up in Detroit, Michigan listening to some GREAT radio
talent. (WDRQ was her #1 favorite radio station). As a young
girl Kim always wanted to be on the radio. From about
the age of 13 she had equipment set up in her bedroom and made believe
she was a DJ. She started her
radio career in Knoxville, TN and has also worked on the air in Milwaukee,
WI., Oklahoma City, OK, Greensboro, NC, Toledo, OH, Detroit and Grand
Rapids, MI. Kim has won accolades for her air work and
has always loved to write poetry. At one point in time Kim
got up the nerve to share some of her poetry on the air while doing a
love songs show called The Quiet Storm. From that point on
listeners demanded she put out a book. So Kim authored a
book of short stories and poetry titled "Essence Of Life: A
Compilation of Inspiration and Poem." It has sold nearly
10,000 copies...not bad for a self published book. Barnes &
Noble and Amazon.com have both stocked the book along with
various bookstores throughout the country. Currently it is out
of print but Kim is working on "Book #2". She is
also cultivating her love of photography and some of her work can
be seen by clicking
here. She loves and admires a style of photography
called "Street Photography". This is a type of
photography that is taken in public, of strangers, doing everyday
things, with an unusual point of view. Some of her favorite
street photographers include Helen Levitt, Henri
Cartier-Bresson and Walker Evans.
