Charlie Farren & Candy O'Terry
Charlie
Farren grew up in Massachusetts and has long been known for
great songs, great singing, and for outstanding live performances. On
stage Charlie captures an audience with his unique delivery, insightful
lyrics, memorable songs, soaring vocal, and subtle yet innovative guitar
style. It wasn't always quite so subtle, as Charlie began his career
with a history of successful, hard-crunching rock bands throughout the
1980s.
Charlie emerged onto the national scene
in the early '80s after teaming up with Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe
Perry and releasing an acclaimed album on CBS. In 1986 Charlie, along
with Dave Hull and John Muzzy, formed Farrenheit and released a self
titled debut album on Warner Brothers. Three singles from that album as
well as video exposure on MTV, established Farrenheit as one of the
premier new rock acts. Farren's
1999 release, 'Deja Blue' earned him new national respect, not only
through his masterful songwriting and soulful vocals, but in his ability
to reinvent himself as an artist.
Charlie continues to be one of America's
most original and compelling musical artists. His latest effort is a
duet with Candy O'Terry called "You Are The Only
One."
Candy
O’Terry started out as a singer and also has a very successful
career in radio. Born in New York City and raised in Connecticut, Candy
moved to Boston to dive for Boston College and became a silver medalist
in the Massachusetts Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships.
She was a two-time finalist on Star Search, fronted a band
throughout the '80s and was a successful jingle singer.
She has recorded and released "The Gift" &
"Valentine" with Grammy nominee Jim Brickman (which are also
heard on LiteFavorites.com). Candy has also performed at Symphony
Hall with Keith Lockhart & the Boston Pops, at Boston’s Shubert
Theatre and the Boston Garden. You may have even heard her in the air as
the voice of "Connected" aboard American Airlines flights
worldwide.
She has been honored by the Gilda Radner Foundation for her work on
behalf of women’s cancers and is the spokesperson for the American
Cancer Society’s "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk
and is the recipient of the "Media Hero Award" from the
American Red Cross. Candy is also President of the American Women in
Radio & Television/New England Chapter.
