Tom
grew up in the shadow of the WWRL tower in New York City and decided
at very young age that he was going to be a “radioman.” He spent
much of his time as a teenager visiting radio stations and made his
debut in 1966 on WADO doing station breaks in English and Spanish.
After high school, Tom broadcast worldwide on the Armed Forces Radio
and TV Service. Since then he has held forth on the airwaves of New
York, San Diego, Akron, Greensboro, The Quad Cities, Cleveland and
Minneapolis-St. Paul. He has also been the corporate program director
for several radio companies. In 2000, he decided that he needed a new
career “for his second 50 years.” After being out of school for
over 30 years, he returned to college to become a middle school
science teacher. Tom also runs his own voiceover business, Soft
Sell Voiceovers, which provides imaging and narrations to
clients around the world. In his rare spare time, Tom communicates via
Morse code on the Ham Radio bands and collects antique radios from the
1930s through 1950s.
“It’s
great to back on the air with LiteFavorites.com,” says Tom. “I
hope I can make our listeners’ weekends more relaxing with the
softest hits of all time.”
